Figs and Flowers

The Calendulas have been very successful in the front wood chipped strip on the nature strip, this is just one of the plants, still in its original pot and flowering profusely.

We have three different Fig trees now, two in pots and one in the ground, this one is in a wine barrel. Like many of the plants that we have selected these are suited to the Mediterranean style climate that we live in and also produce a crop which is difficult to purchase fresh but has lots of health benefits if you can. So much better to grow your own Figs, we love being able to pick them just a few metres from our front door.

The flowers that have been planted in the wood chip path on the nature strip have been planted to attract insects, here you can see a bee taking advantage of the beautiful blue Cornflowers
